Robert Stutes has served as pastor of MPUMC since July 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Texas before moving to Roanoke, and has been a United Methodist pastor since 1979. He and his wife Betsy have two grown children, Jeremy and Whitney, who both live in California.
Robert is a graduate of the University of Houston (B.A.), Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Mo. (M.Div.), and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio (D.Min.).
He and Betsy chose to relocate to Roanoke because of the natural beauty and the four seasons, and they are delighted to be living and serving in this area.
One of his favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:38 – “I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
